Free Charity Hosting Plan — Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 14, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Agreement") govern the use of the Free Charity Hosting plan provided by Ruach Hosting (Ruachost) ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") to eligible Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). By signing up for this service via https://ruachost.com/hosting/charity, you ("User," "Client," or "Organization") agree to be bound by the following terms.

1. Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for and maintain a Free Charity Hosting account, the User must:

  • Be a registered NGO with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria.
  • Provide valid proof of registration upon request.
  • Operate for non-profit purposes that align with community development, education, health, or social welfare.

Ruachost reserves the sole right to approve or reject any application for charity hosting without providing a reason.

2. Mandatory Usage & Inactivity Policy (3-Month Rule)

To ensure that our resources are utilized by active organizations and not wasted on dormant projects, the following policy applies:

  • Active Use Requirement: The hosted website must be fully functional, accessible to the public, and regularly updated.
  • Inactivity Definition: Inactivity is defined as a lack of administrative logins to the hosting panel/CMS, zero traffic (excluding bot traffic), or a website showing "Coming Soon," "Under Construction," or default placeholder pages.
  • Termination: If a hosting account remains inactive for a period of three (3) consecutive months, Ruachost reserves the right to terminate the service and delete all associated data (files, databases, and emails) without further notice.
  • Reclamation: Once terminated for inactivity, the resources will be returned to the free hosting pool for other eligible NGOs.

3. Resource Usage & Restrictions

  • Fair Use: While this plan is free, it is subject to "Fair Use" resource limits (CPU, RAM, and Disk Space). Ruachost reserves the right to throttle or suspend accounts that negatively impact server stability.
  • Prohibited Content: The service must not be used for:
    • Storage of large backups or file-sharing archives.
    • Cryptocurrency mining or intensive script execution.
    • Illegal activities under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
    • Spamming or bulk unsolicited emailing.

4. Domain Registration & Management

As a condition of receiving Free Charity Hosting, the domain name used for the hosted website must, at the time of onboarding, be either:

  • registered through Ruachost as the registrar; or
  • transferred into Ruachost's registrar/management account for the duration of the hosting relationship.

This requirement allows Ruachost to manage DNS, certificates, and renewals on the User's behalf as part of the free service. The User remains responsible for any domain renewal costs unless otherwise agreed in writing. Where a domain is held under Ruachost's management, the User may request its transfer back to a registrar of their choice upon exit from the program, subject to settlement of any outstanding fees.

5. Limitation of Liability & "As-Is" Provision

  • No Warranties: The Charity Hosting service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Ruachost makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding uptime, speed, or data integrity.
  • Loss of Data: While we maintain server security, the User is solely responsible for maintaining their own off-site backups. Ruachost shall not be liable for any loss of data, loss of profits, or disruption of service.
  • Total Indemnity: The User agrees to indemnify and hold Ruachost harmless from any claims, damages, or legal expenses arising from the content hosted on the User's website or the use of the free service.

6. Protection of Company Resources

Ruachost provides this service as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. To protect our infrastructure:

  • We reserve the right to migrate charity accounts to different servers at any time to optimize performance.
  • We reserve the right to discontinue the "Free Charity Hosting" program entirely at our discretion, provided a 30-day notice is given to active users to migrate their data.

7. Branding & Promotional Use

7.1 Footer Attribution. The User must display Ruachost branding in the footer of every page of the hosted website. This must include a visible, do-follow hyperlink with the anchor text "Securely Hosted by Ruachost" pointing to https://ruachost.com. The badge and link must remain in place for the full duration of the hosting relationship and must not be removed, hidden, obscured, or set to nofollow.

7.2 Promotional Use of Beneficiary. By accepting these Terms, the User grants Ruachost, its subsidiaries, and its affiliates a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use the Organization's name, logo, website, and a description of the hosted project as a reference, case study, or testimonial across Ruachost's marketing and promotional materials, including (without limitation) the Ruachost website, social media channels, presentations, and pitch materials. The User may request, in writing, that a specific reference be withdrawn from future materials.

8. Termination by Company

Ruachost reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account immediately, without notice, if the User:

  • Violates any part of these Terms.
  • Provides false registration documents.
  • Engages in conduct that harms the reputation of Ruachost.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
